Case Study - Saol Assurance

18 Workstations | 130 Staff | Hume Street House

Project Brief

Saol Assurance had outgrown a shared arrangement with limited access to their own meeting rooms and common areas. Iconic Offices worked with Saol Assurance and their agent, Savills Ireland, to design a self-contained, fully branded headquarters at Hume Street House - built around collaboration, flexibility and staff wellbeing.

The Clients Goals

Reception & IT

Create a designated reception area within the space coupled with premium IT facilities and secure access.

Integrate Brand

Weave the client’s umbrella of brands through the design ethos and overall look and feel of the space.

Bar & Dining

Incorporate a bar and dining space that would function for staff utilisation, product tastings and private events.

Office Space

Supply an attractive office proposition for staff members, zones built to enhance collaboration and culture.

The Challenge

A brief that needed far more than desks.

Saol Assurance came to Iconic Offices needing a new headquarters that prioritised flexibility, modernity and staff wellbeing. Our detailed fact-finding process uncovered a brief that went well beyond the original scope: not a fixed floor of desks, but a genuine collaboration hub - hackable spaces, meeting rooms, and room for external teams to work from, all built around a core of just 18 permanent workstations.

Security and connectivity were non-negotiable given the nature of Saol Assurance's business, and strong public transport links were essential for a hybrid workforce. Above all, the space needed to feel unmistakably like Saol Assurance's own.

Sale Assurance required a hub setup for collaboration, with the initial scope expanding into more collaborative spaces, meeting rooms and technology integration.

The Solution

A test-fit built around real working patterns, not desk counts.

Iconic Offices' property team established a core test-fit for the space at Hume Street House - 18 fixed workstations, two meeting rooms, a dedicated collaboration zone, breakout space and a lounge zone - then iterated the floor plan alongside Saol Assurance and Savills Ireland until it matched exactly how their operations, marketing and IT teams wanted to work.

Rather than building around a fixed desk count, we designed for peak flexibility: a compact permanent footprint that scales to accommodate up to 130 staff on hangout days, backed by a large conference room for town halls and strong transport links into the city centre.

The Result

A headquarters staff genuinely want to work from.
The finished space gave Saol Assurance a bright headquarters built around 18 permanent workstations that flexes across the wider building depending on the day - from focused desk work to monthly company-wide hangouts for up to 130 staff. Iconic's front-of-house team manage logistics, set-up and catering for those larger events, and the move-in itself was handled seamlessly, with minor fit-out items resolved quickly post-occupation.

Our Challenges

Saol Assurance's original space request didn't match what the team actually needed. We ran a detailed test-fit and fact-finding process, iterating the floor plan until it reflected real working patterns across operations, marketing and IT.

Given the nature of Saol Assurance's business, security and seamless connectivity were essential. Our existing infrastructure at Hume Street House was built to meet this bar, so we could deliver secure, dedicated access without compromise.

Hume Street has worked really well for us. It's modern, bright, and it's genuinely flexible — we can flex across the whole building depending on what a day needs, from focused desk time to the monthly hangouts we run for the wider team. The front-of-house team at Iconic made the move seamless, and the space has made a real difference to how our people feel about coming into the office.
