FAQs
Getting Started
Enterprise-grade infrastructure and fibre connectivity, with options tailored to your business. As standard, every office includes access to a shared internet connection with both Wi-Fi and wired connectivity. Services can be upgraded to include dedicated bandwidth or other specific connectivity requirements.
Our IT services can be tailored to your requirements. We'll work with you to understand your existing IT setup and business needs, then identify which services you need from us.
Timelines depend on the complexity of your requirements, but our IT team works closely with you from the outset to ensure everything is ready in line with your move-in date. Standard requirements can typically be delivered quickly; more complex or bespoke configurations may need additional lead time.
Wherever possible, your IT services are configured and tested before your team moves in, minimising disruption. For more complex requirements, our IT team agrees an implementation plan with you in advance so any necessary changes or downtime can be carefully managed.
Our Community Team sends a move-in questionnaire ahead of your move, covering connectivity and Wi-Fi requirements, advanced network configuration and more. We encourage clients with client-owned network equipment or specialist requirements to engage with us early so availability, rack space, power and configuration requirements can be assessed.

Yes. Support continues beyond initial setup, provided by our onsite Community Team and in-house IT team, covering troubleshooting, connectivity issues, service changes and additional requirements as your business evolves.

Security & Cyber Security
We use a layered approach to security to protect the network infrastructure and reduce the risk of unauthorised access, disruption or misuse. Controls include network segmentation, managed perimeter controls, restricted administrative access, physical protection of network infrastructure, monitoring, controlled change processes and security management of the underlying systems.
Yes. Each client is provided with a dedicated VLAN, logically separating their business traffic from other clients in the building. The network architecture described in our IT documentation also prevents traffic between client networks and allocates client IP addressing and gateway services to the relevant client network.
Administrative access to network infrastructure and management systems is restricted to authorised personnel. Our IT documentation describes role-based administration, individually assigned administrator accounts, certificate-based secure web access, restrictions based on authorised protocols and originating addresses, and an audit trail of administrative actions and configuration changes.
Core network infrastructure and equipment are located within designated areas with access restricted to authorised personnel. Where client-owned equipment is housed in an Iconic comms room, rack space and power are agreed in advance and physical access is coordinated with the Community Team.
Yes. Managed infrastructure is remotely monitored, and system activity is logged. Our IT documentation describes continuous monitoring for equipment covered by service-level arrangements and offsite rotation of logs. Bandwidth usage can also be monitored at port level. Specific monitoring and retention arrangements can be confirmed during technical due diligence.
Changes are managed through controlled processes. Administrative activity and configuration changes are logged against the relevant user, with change history retained for audit purposes. System configuration and updates are managed through controlled mechanisms.
Our IT documentation states that managed installations are patched proactively against known vulnerabilities in line with recommended practice, unless an administrator has explicitly prohibited an update. Updates are introduced through an internal authentication process and system release levels are tracked.
By default, outbound application traffic is not blocked on NAT or public IP services, except for certain ports associated with higher threat risk based on security advisories. Inbound traffic is restricted unless it forms part of an established connection or is explicitly supported through an allocated public IP/rule. Where a client network presents a significant risk to other users or the location, Iconic may take pre-emptive action to restrict or disable the affected service.
Yes. Our network supports customer deployments ranging from a client network behind the Iconic firewall through to a client-managed firewall, router or gateway using the available public IP handoff. Client-provided switches and Wi-Fi equipment are subject to agreement and technical compatibility.
Client-owned hardware and software remain the responsibility of the client or their IT provider. Unsupported switches, Wi-Fi equipment or other devices introduced into the network may create security or service risks and must be agreed in advance. Devices such as printers or other equipment connected to DMZ or other network segments should be appropriately protected or risk assessed by the client.
Our existing IT documentation records testing against DDoS attacks up to 1Gbps without compromise. Specific current testing scope, dates and results can be discussed with a client's IT or security team subject to appropriate confidentiality requirements.
Compliance & Governance
Our IT services and security controls are designed with recognised industry security practices and principles in mind. Our IT documentation records experience supporting organisations subject to a range of regulatory and compliance requirements, including PCI and Sarbanes-Oxley-related environments. This should not be interpreted as making a client's own environment automatically compliant; customers remain responsible for their own compliance obligations.
Yes. We maintain documented IT and information security policies setting out the controls and processes used to manage security across our organisation and infrastructure, reviewed and updated periodically.
Yes, subject to the nature and sensitivity of the information requested. Our IT team can work directly with your compliance or security team to provide appropriate information, including relevant network architecture and control information.
Yes. We regularly support client IT, security and compliance reviews and can complete security questionnaires relating to the services and infrastructure we provide.
Yes. Our IT environment and security controls are reviewed regularly to identify potential risks and areas for improvement, with findings assessed and appropriate action taken. Our IT documentation also records audits and compliance reviews undertaken in support of regulated and other security-conscious occupants.
Third-party technology and service providers are assessed and managed as part of our IT and security processes, considering security, reliability, service capability and data protection. Performance of key providers is monitored on an ongoing basis, with SLAs in place where appropriate.
IT Support
Your Community Team is your first point of contact for any IT query. They assist with initial troubleshooting and escalate to our IT team on your behalf where further technical support is required.
Our Community Team and IT support team are available during standard business hours. Additional support arrangements can be discussed where required.
Response times are based on the priority and impact of the issue, with critical issues affecting business operations prioritised. Managed network services are supported by a 99.9% availability SLA. Specific response, restoration and service-credit arrangements are subject to the applicable service agreement and can be provided during technical scoping.
Our IT team supports the services and infrastructure we deliver and manage, including internet connectivity, Wi-Fi and wired network connections. For issues relating to client-owned devices, applications, systems or networks, we work with your internal IT team or provider to help resolve matters relating to Iconic's infrastructure.
By severity, business impact and the number of users or services affected. Critical issues that significantly impact business operations are given the highest priority.
Yes — your Community Team provides continuity of support and ensures requests are picked up and managed by the appropriate team member.
Equipment & Devices
Yes. Our IT team can support procurement of IT equipment based on your requirements - identifying what's needed, sourcing suitable options and coordinating procurement.
We don't typically install or configure client-owned endpoint devices, as these are generally managed by your own internal IT team or provider. We can provide the information and support needed to connect your devices to the Iconic network.
Yes - our team can assist with network setup and the configuration required to get them connected. Where printers or other devices are placed in a network segment with security implications, the client remains responsible for appropriate device security and risk assessment.
Yes, including screens, video conferencing equipment and other AV solutions. Our IT team can assist with procurement, working with our partners, and our Facilities Team can support physical installation. As meeting-room equipment is client-owned, troubleshooting of the devices themselves remains the responsibility of your internal IT team or provider; our IT team supports issues relating to the network or infrastructure we provide.
Business Continuity
Our IT team investigates and works to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Where it relates to our internet service provider, we manage the escalation directly with them and keep affected clients updated.
Yes. We offer backup connectivity using a separate, diverse route into the building. Where the relevant client network configuration supports automatic failover, connectivity can move to the backup service while the primary issue is investigated.
Our network infrastructure is monitored and includes resilience measures such as backup connectivity and automatic failover where supported. Our IT documentation also describes disaster recovery procedures, automated daily backups for relevant managed systems, replacement-hardware recovery targets and options for active-passive or offline passive resilience depending on the service and location.
Our existing IT documentation describes replacement hardware recovery in 15 minutes for relevant systems. This is an infrastructure recovery target rather than a guarantee that every client service or application will be restored within 15 minutes. The applicable resilience arrangement should be confirmed for the specific building and service.
Our business continuity and recovery measures focus on the IT infrastructure and services we provide and manage — including network resilience, backup connectivity, monitoring, backups of relevant managed system configurations and established incident response processes. Clients remain responsible for disaster recovery and business continuity arrangements relating to their own devices, systems, applications and data.
Restoration times depend on the nature and cause of the outage and the service affected. Our IT team prioritises service-impacting issues and works to restore connectivity as quickly as possible, including escalating directly to service providers where required. Applicable service-level commitments can be provided during technical scoping.
If moving within our portfolio, our Community and IT Teams coordinate any changes required to support your move. When your Licence Agreement ends, associated IT services normally end in line with your agreement, unless otherwise agreed; any dedicated services, equipment or configurations are reviewed as part of offboarding.
Growth & Scalability
Yes. Our IT solutions are designed to be flexible and scale with your business - whether you're growing your team, need additional connectivity, or are expanding your footprint.
Yes - your Community Team will make the changes required to onboard new users and arrange any required network access.
Yes. If you expand into additional space, our Community Team can replicate your current setup or make changes based on your requirements. Building-specific availability and network architecture will be assessed for each location.

These may apply depending on your requirements, particularly where additional configuration, equipment or infrastructure is needed. Additional bandwidth, public IPs, comms-room storage and other bespoke services may incur additional charges. Any applicable costs are confirmed with you in advance.
IT services normally run in line with the term of your Licence Agreement, unless a specific minimum term has been agreed for a particular service.
Contact your Community Team, who will coordinate the request with the relevant IT team and confirm any technical requirements, lead times or additional charges.
Data Protection
We do not access, store or manage your company data as part of our standard IT service. We take appropriate measures to secure the network infrastructure through which your connectivity is provided, and each client operates on their own dedicated VLAN, logically separating network traffic from other clients. Clients remain responsible for the security of data held within their own devices, systems and applications, including access controls, encryption and backup arrangements.
No. Providing your internet and network connectivity does not give us access to your company files, emails or other business content - these remain under your organisation's control.
No. As part of our standard IT service, we do not store or have access to your company files, emails or other business data. Our responsibility relates to the IT infrastructure and connectivity we provide and manage.
Encryption of your business data is managed through your own devices, systems, applications and security policies. As we do not host or manage your business data, clients remain responsible for ensuring appropriate encryption is applied.
No. We do not back up client files, emails or other business data as part of our standard IT service. Clients remain responsible for ensuring appropriate backup and recovery arrangements for their own data. Iconic's managed infrastructure may have its own configuration and system recovery arrangements.
We have policies, processes and technical and organisational measures in place to support compliance with GDPR and applicable Irish data protection legislation. Personal data is handled in accordance with our data protection and privacy requirements, with appropriate controls around access, security, retention and third-party processing.
Retention periods vary depending on the system, type of log and operational or security requirement. Logs relating to the infrastructure and services we manage are retained in accordance with our internal security, operational and data retention requirements. Specific retention information can be discussed with a client's compliance or security team where required.

Network & Connectivity
Each building is connected via a business-grade Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) circuit. Our standard client service operates over shared connectivity on this infrastructure, with both Wi-Fi and wired access available. Dedicated bandwidth is also available for businesses requiring guaranteed capacity or specific performance requirements, subject to availability at the relevant building.
Our managed network services are supported by a 99.9% availability SLA. This applies to the relevant Iconic-managed connectivity service, subject to the terms and exclusions of the applicable service agreement. Specific SLA details, including response, restoration and service-credit arrangements where applicable, can be provided during technical scoping.
Our standard service is shared. Shared bandwidth is divided among users of the shared service and therefore does not provide a guaranteed individual speed. The service is intended for normal business use; sustained high-volume uploads or downloads can affect available throughput for other users. A fair-use policy applies to the shared service. Where a business requires guaranteed bandwidth or consistently higher capacity, a dedicated bandwidth service can be arranged for an additional charge.
We do not publish a single bandwidth figure for the shared service because the available capacity and usage profile can vary by building and service configuration. What is important is that the standard service is shared and does not provide a guaranteed minimum speed to an individual client. Our team can confirm the available dedicated bandwidth options for your chosen location if a guaranteed capacity is required.
Dedicated connectivity can be provisioned according to your business requirements and the capacity available at the relevant building, with services available up to 1Gb as stated in our current service information. The exact option, performance characteristics and pricing are confirmed during technical scoping.
Both are provided as standard, at no additional cost. Wired connections are recommended where productivity and performance requirements make a physical connection preferable.

Yes - one data port and one power outlet per desk as standard, with additional data ports typically available within the suite for printers and other peripherals.
This is building-specific. In Georgian buildings, adding ports can be difficult, although a small PoE switch may be available as an alternative. In newer buildings, adding ports is generally possible. Additional ports or equipment may incur an additional cost.
Internet connectivity is provided within each building through Iconic's managed network infrastructure, so clients cannot bring in their own internet service provider. Shared and dedicated bandwidth options are available.
Yes, subject to technical requirements, available infrastructure and prior agreement. Clients using their own network equipment must take a dedicated bandwidth service. Iconic can provide a public IP handoff from an Iconic switch to client equipment; once configured, this can allow the client-managed firewall or router to sit outside the Iconic firewall. Client equipment can also be housed in the Iconic comms room at an additional charge, subject to available rack space and power.
A public IP can be provided on request as an RJ45 handoff assigned to a port on an Iconic switch. One public IP is provided free of charge to each client company, subject to request and approval. Additional public IPs are chargeable. A routed public IP can be made available as a subnet on the specific client port for use by suitable client equipment such as a router or firewall.
The Iconic network remains a shared managed environment. Where a client requires its own dedicated switching infrastructure, the client can install its own switch within agreed rack space, subject to technical approval and building constraints.
Our standard building Wi-Fi uses an Iconic-managed SSID and login portal. Once a client's staff authenticate, their traffic is directed to the relevant private client VLAN. This approach allows building-wide roaming while maintaining logical separation between client networks. Client-operated Wi-Fi equipment can be supported where agreed as part of a customer-managed network design.
Our network is designed to support the connectivity needs of a modern workplace - generally around three connected devices per person. Businesses with a particularly high number of connected devices or specialist requirements can have these reviewed by our IT team.
Network infrastructure covered by our managed services is remotely monitored. Our IT documentation also describes bandwidth monitoring at the port level and logging of system activity, enabling our IT team to identify and investigate connectivity, performance and infrastructure issues.
Yes. We can provide relevant information about our network infrastructure and security controls to support your team's review, with more detailed or sensitive information available where appropriate. Our IT team can join a call with your IT or security team.
Yes - VOIP handsets and softphone options with local dialling codes are available, together with a customised call-answering service. Voice services are charged separately.
We do not provide a universal bandwidth recommendation because requirements vary by business and usage profile. We can discuss your expected user and device numbers, applications and connectivity requirements and advise on the available options. A dedicated service can be selected where a guaranteed capacity is required.
Changes are managed through controlled processes, with consideration given to security, service continuity and potential client impact. Our IT documentation also describes logged configuration changes and an audit trail of administrative activity. Where planned works may affect your service, we communicate this in advance where appropriate.
